fuckin cute car
For the last few days my car has been knocking a bit, I attributed it to the warped rotors from a recent encounter with a 18-wheeler and disregarded it. But it was slowly getting worse and worse. So when it got loud and I could start to feel it in the steering wheel I started to get concerned. It only happened when I let off the gas, or I wasn’t braking, so I was like hmmmmm this may be something, so I called dad. he said that I should check the lugs on the tire to see if they were all tight, they where. So he said that is was probs a bad joint or a bearing.
Yesterday my friend Rob asked me to drive him to the mall. As we were driving the knocking was getting really loud and actually causing the steering to fuck up and wobble. So I was all “I’m going to park this car for the week after I get back and check it out this weekend.” and the second I thought that I saw a wheel bounce past my window and zoom down the street. The bouncing wheel was immediately followed by the sound of crumpling metal and the front end of my car dipping down onto the pavement. Apparently at this point I giggled a said “well shit” (according to rob) as the rotor for my brakes left a groove in the pavement and sparks galore. I calmly pulled over, got out of my car, and fucking booked it down the street (full of cars) after my wheel. It went two blocks before I got it.
I carried it back and saw that the tire had completely ripped the fender apart, and that there was a huge flat spot on my brakes. Skipping ahead a bit, we put the tire back on (not easy considering how I had to jack up the car and take a lug from all the other wheels since the lugs from that wheel literally shattered), and drove to the mall. We got our shit then drove back to the school. As I pulled into the school the knocking came back, and mind you not gradually, the same intensity it possessed 2 seconds before the wheel flying. That night dad came with the trailer, and we towed my car home.
Oh! And one of the tires blew on the trailer and tore the fender off of it while we were driving. We didn’t notice till we got home. That was cute too.
